CCA ANDRATX - MALLORCA

HEART·H Collective Exhibition curated by Sylvia Sánchez Montoya
CCA Kunsthalle I | 14.03.25 ‒ 26.04.25 Andratx

“All palaces are temporary palaces” - Robert Montgomery.

HEART·H, is an exhibition that reimagines the concept of home as a perception rather than a fixed reality - a feeling rather than a physical form. This exhibition deconstructs the idea of the domestic space, reconfiguring it into clusters of activities that collectively define what we call home. It draws a series of layers, moving from the public to the private - from the recibidor (entrance hall) to the womb.

In an era of emotional design, curator Sylvia Sánchez Montoya has invited a diverse group of artists, designers, performers and makers whose work, directly or indirectly, explores themes of belonging, inhabiting and shelter.

HEART·H, challenges us to expand our boundaries, inviting us to feel safe, welcome and at home - wherever we may be in the world.

THE FRONT LAWN

A Matter of Time — Luna Paiva
Domestic remnants cast in bronze. An archaeological vision of what remains after ruin.

Collaborative Shelter — Result of the Workshop led by Fango Studio
A shelter built from waste found on the island. A collaborative exercise exploring materials, territory, and empirical construction techniques.

THE THRESHOLD

Moira Cosmos — Sylvia Sánchez Montoya

Large-scale immersive sculptures made from local, raw materials—living matter that transforms through interaction with the environment. They function as pathways, divisions, and refuges, reminding us of the ephemeral nature of all things.

THE GREAT HALL

Sea High Table, Glassware — Marta Armengol
An object that extends majestically through space, inviting circulation, observation, and use. Its geometry recalls a table, but the combination of four unique, fused forms creates a piece that appears alive—solid and liquid at once—paying homage to the sea and its forms.
Placed upon it, a series of irregular borosilicate glass goblets invite reflection on everyday acts such as eating or drinking, rendering them conscious.

THE PANTRY

Vases — Arina Antonova, Božica Marukić, Paco Romero
Ceramic vases arranged on the floor, like a fair from another time, evoke feminine trades—feeding, containing, cooking—and question notions of usefulness and “uselessness,” the practical and the contemplative.

THE CHILDREN’S BEDROOM

Soap Bubbles — Pere and Gabi Ignasi
In the Ignasi workshop, father and son combine skill, teamwork, and prior design, transforming glass into large mobile sculptures—children’s games at a giant scale. Inspired by Calder, these pieces float and rotate with the wind, blending technique, balance, and dreamlike play.

THE WINDOWS

Error in the Landscape — Claire O’Keefe
A collection of photographic errors that reveal ethereal and poetically ambiguous landscapes. At large scale, viscose prints explore the boundaries between photography and painting, revealing the beauty of imperfection.

THE LIVING ROOM

Estem molt bé quan som a dins i estem salvats quan ens treu a fora. Respirem.
Tot el cos respira.
És un mantell que ens tapa, és una cúpula d’església.
El vent és al mig, el foc és a dins.

THE GUTS

Berenice, Cisne, Totem I, Gennisi, La Pareja, Estudio Num VI, Yegua — Berta Blanca T. Ivanow
Brutal yet subtle objects that evoke embryonic imagery, constructing a sacred relationship with the uterus and maternity, extending toward the alteration of flesh-like forms through the malleability of clay.

THE ALTAR

Inner Workings — Madeleine Botet de Lacaze
Madeleine’s artistic and performative practice is interdisciplinary—at the intersection of performance, gender studies, and spiritual practices—addressing themes of identity, belonging, and presence. Through a powerful visual language, she creates intimate performances that challenge our perception of corporeality and material symbolism.

From the Cupboard of One Farmer — Alice Gomme Archive
A collection of ten tank tops, the same model in different states of wear, belonging to a single person and found on a farm from the early 20th century.

THE CHANGING ROOM

Portals of Becoming — Ida Johansson
A sculptural installation inspired by the cyclical rhythms of nature and the dualities of existence. A “penetrable” work inviting transcendence of the visible and the experience of connection and unity.

THE DREAMATORIUM

Digital Collages — Júlia Bosch
Her idea of home is built upon creative freedom, music, knowledge, writing, and above all, nature. Curiously, she has been living an itinerant life for more than ten years, and her digital collages focus on creating rooms and encapsulated spaces—like an endless search for home.

THE SITTING ROOM

Split Table, Cildo Seats — Sara Regal
A complete living room built from waste as a starting point. Through the exploration of plastic and textile materials at the end of their life cycle, Regal develops a manual, experimental process that combines craftsmanship and industrial techniques, treating each fragment as unique.

THE BIRD’S NEST

Ocaso — Ela Spalding
An installation intertwining lullaby sounds with texts on resilience and life cycles, linked to the specific place where it is presented. Through handmade fisherman’s hammocks, the work proposes a situated reflection on the time we inhabit and our relationship with nature and geological time.
