To weave, a portion of the warp rises, creating a shed, a fleeting space through which the weft slips. Another portion lifts, another shed opens. The interlocking structure exists only because of these ephemeral spaces. Just as in our bodies — mostly empty space at the atomic level, yet intricately woven into cells, tissues, and organs, a living weave of emptiness.
